Time, Material, Memory

Organic wide band ring, sterling silver

I don’t plan everything.
Sometimes I pick up a piece of silver and it already knows what it wants to be.

Most of the materials I use have had another life before this one. Leftovers from old work, stones from someone’s broken bracelet, beads I forgot I had. I keep them until they find their moment. That could be a week. That could be years.

Some things just need time.

The pieces I end up loving the most aren’t the ones I designed on purpose. They’re the ones that changed while I made them. The ones that carry a bit of a story. The ones that feel like they remember something.

That’s how I work:
Time. Material. Memory.
Not always in that order.
